The Dash-In-affectionately known as “The Dash” by regulars- can best be described as a bar meets cafe, with a vibrant atmosphere thown into the mix.

You’ll find this popular downtown hangout on Calhoun Street in the middle of the urban center, in a trendy restored building with walls adorned with art. Whether you stop in for a microbrew, or a sandwich, you will be equally pleased. The Dash-In has been a downtown lunch staple for some time. Under new management, the menu has been revamped. Deli sandwiches, soup, salads, burgers and paninis are among the lunch choices. Their gourmet style grilled cheeses are a foodie’s dream come true. The Dash also has several beers on tap, as well as a selection of hot and cold gourmet coffee drinks.

Diners seeking gluten-free options will be pleasantly surprised. They serve the best (gluten-free!) tomato bisque soup you’ll ever eat. And any of their sandwiches can be enjoyed with French Meadow gluten-free bread.  Try it with the gourmet grilled cheese selection or the Mediterranean veggie variety.

As if it couldn’t get any better, this place also doubles (or triples if you count the bar), as a music venue by night. The Dash-In becomes a popular stop for those wanting to kick back after a long week. There’s nothing like sipping on a glass of wine and taking in some jazz in one of Fort Wayne’s favorite haunts.
