The Scoop on Sushi
November 21st, 2011
Does the thought of raw fish make you a bit uncomfortable?
That’s a shame because sushi can be a healthy and tasty meal.
Don’t miss out on this savory Japanese speciality. Here are a few tips for ordering sushi:
- Many first-timers prefer to start with a California Roll. Filled with avocado, cucumber, and crab, it combines flavor and crunch all in one bite.
- You also can’t go wrong with shrimp, or ebi. If you’re not bold enough to venture to the raw side, be sure to order regular shrimp, as sweet shrimp is often served uncooked.
- If you’re open for a raw choice, but want to error on the side of mild, red snapper (tai), tuna (maguro), and halibut (ohyo) are three great choices.
- Last, be sure to use the wasabi sparingly. Or else your boss might think you’re crying like a baby!
