We’ve all seen Smokey Bones when we go to catch a movie at Carmike Theatre at Jefferson Pointe. Have you ever stopped to try the food? With so many restaurants in Fort Wayne, it’s easy to find a few favorites and then stop exploring the cuisine that our town has to offer. I am guilty of this more than anyone. I’ve driven by Smokey Bones a thousand times in the last few years, I always had it in the back of my mind to stop by but I just never quite made the time. Today, I found out exactly what I had been missing.

I can’t believe I waited so long to try their Smokehouse Burger and Fried Pickles. Enjoy a mouth-watering ½ lb. burger fire-grilled to your liking, smothered with BBQ’d onions, peppered bacon slices, melted cheddar and crispy onion straws, all on a toasted burger bun. It’s so good especially with the added lettuce, tomato, red onion, and pickles.

For sides and appetizers they have everything from chicken wings to Smokey (sloppy) Joes. I opted for their Fried Pickles. These tangy dill pickles have zest and are fried golden brown with a side of Cool Ranch dipping sauce. Combined with the fresh cut fries and delicious cole slaw, it came together for a perfect meal. I didn’t just leave full but satisfied.

As much as I love to eat, I barely touched on what Smokey Bones has to offer.
