Black Canyon was hopping! I didn’t expect to see the nightlife and long line of patrons when I arrived tonight. With a beautiful atmosphere, gorgeous bar, and 45 minute wait for a table, this is officially the new hot spot for the Dupont area of Fort Wayne. People came dressed to impress.

The drinks were cold and timely, the service was prompt, and the food was incredible. I saw a lot of steaks being served around me, which is to be expected with a respectable establishment such as Black Canyon, but I wanted to try some of their less known entrees. What I found was a delicious quest for food done right.

If I could make one recommendation, it would be the fish tacos. The fish is grilled fresh and served in a warm flour tortilla with avocado, queso fresco, Chipotle crema, cabbage, and diced tomatoes. It is served with black beans and rice along with a very unique jalapeno dipping sauce. It’s nothing less than perfection. Throw in their side salad (with a little Cous Cous on the side) and end it with their Key Lime Pie and you have the perfect dinner without breaking the bank.

I was so impressed with the atmosphere that Black Canyon has brought to the Dupont area. If you aren’t able to stop in to enjoy it or simply don’t want to risk waiting for a table, then I suggest giving Waiter on the Way a call at 260-442-FOOD.
