Big Eyed Fish has been around for years. A staple in the Wells Street Corridor, it has a location that is easy to drive by and miss. With thousands of cars driving by their 1502 N. Wells Street location each week, their restaurant can be found in a simple tan structure. However, to overlook it would be a mistake.

I have only recently started to enjoy their original menu of fish, shrimp, and delicious soups and appetizers. My biggest recommendation would be to keep it simple: one pound of fried fish. Add in a little of their creamy tarter sauce and you have a perfect meal from one of our favorite local fish diners.

I stopped by earlier in the day and was pleasantly surprised with their breakfast menu. They offered the eggs, ham, and potatoes special as well as their famous Big Bite Breakfast. My guest and I dined and enjoyed each bite. The one of kind food combined with the laid back atmosphere, left me feeling all warm and fuzzy even in the winter cold.

The food was incredibly affordable, served hot, and with a smile. Everything at Big Eyed Fish was, for lack of a better word, easy. They have a straight forward menu and are quick to accommodate your needs while dining. Located within sight of the downtown Fort Wayne skyline, it is easily accessible to diners with Wells Street being the connector between downtown and the north areas of Fort Wayne.
