Eating: For Families on the Go

August 17th, 2009

Now that back to school is just around the corner and the kids are at practice or other after school activities, it can be difficult to find time for a healthy meal for the whole family.

One of the most difficult problems families face are the conflicting time schedules that appear as time goes on.  One child may have early practice, one child may have late practice, one spouse may work first shift while the other may work second, and on and on.  So what can you do?  Well you have a few options.

First, if you love to cook, you can try to plan out meals for the week and make some of then items ahead of time.  By planing out your meals and possibly either freezing or refrigerating them, you can have a quick healthy meal ready to eat in a rather short period of time.

Second, is of course picking up food on your way home from work or taxing the kids around.  This option can get expensive rather quickly, however it is a sure fire solution.  Healthy options are generally available at most fast food restaurants, and can also be ordered ahead of time as a “to-go” at many of your favorite sit down restaurants.  Subway and Fazoli’s are two quick but relatively healthy fast food options.

The last option would be to use a service like Waiter on the Way to have your meals delivered.  Waiter on the Way has several great benefits that you can take advantage of to increase your productivity and decrease your downtime.  Did you know that with Waiter on the Way, you can call ahead of time and schedule a delivery of the food items you would like to order?  We even have some customers who place a whole weeks worth of food orders all on one day!  How great would it be to know that all of your meal arrangements can be taken care of in just a few minutes over the phone?  What if somethings comes up?  You can simply call us at least an hour prior to your meal being delivered, and tell us what time you will need it at.

School, work, and dinner can be a tough combination to juggle, but it doesn’t have to be.  Try Waiter on the Way to free up your time, and focus more on the important things in life.
